Thousands of families in the Metcalfe and Osgoode area are already without a family doctor or nurse practitioner. And the situation is about to get more serious. The physicians who have served this community for decades are nearing retirement, and without action right now, local access to primary care could disappear entirely.

The good news? This community is already doing something about it. Healthcare in Metcalfe is a volunteer-led, non-profit organization working urgently to bring a new primary care team to our area before the gap becomes a crisis. We have government approval, strong partners, and a committed board. What we need now is your support.

The Solution

Osgoode Village Family Health Organization Satellite Office

We have received Ministry of Health approval to open a satellite office of the Osgoode Village Family Health Organization (OVFHO) right here in Metcalfe. This means real, primary care infrastructure for our community.

Multi-Professional Practitioners Working Together

We will be recruiting family physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals to work together in one location. This team-based model means more services, better care, and less need to travel for appointments.

From routine check-ups to urgent care, pharmacy services, and diagnostic testing, we are dreaming big. All in your community. No long drives. No waiting lists in the city. Care that is close, accessible, and built for this area.

2022
How it started

A small group of Metcalfe residents gathers to talk about the growing need for family doctors in the area.

2023-2024
Community Support

Three public meetings held. More than 200 residents sign on. Community vision and plan take shape.

2025
It's Official

Healthcare in Metcalfe incorporates as a registered non-profit with a 12-member Board of Directors.

The Ontario Ministry of Health approves a new OVFHO satellite office for Metcalfe.

2026
Active Development

Actively recruiting health professionals and searching for a permanent location. The finish line is in sight.
